OK. I admit it. Dice gamblers have to be the most superstitious gamblers of all gamblers of any game! And you know what? I'm one of them too. I don't know what it is but when certain things happen in the game I feel like it "changes" the luck of the dice. Call me crazy but there are a lot of people that have the same superstitions. Let's go over some of these crazy theories so we all know why dice gamblers act the way they act.
Lady Luck
Dice is usually a male dominated game for the most part. There are very few females that play the game & even less that are willing to throw the dice. When a female does throw the dice though, many gamblers feel like this brings luck to the dice especially if the female throwing it is a first time thrower or "virgin". Again, I have to attest to falling for this superstition as I've had some extremely good luck with female shooters in the past but again, it's just coincidence!
"Watch Your Hands"
Another strange superstition is that if the dice hit another gambler's hands then it will change the luck of the dice for the worse. You might here a gambler say "Watch your hands" or even just "Hands!" to another gambler who might be making some last second bets when the dice are already in the air. This is a tell tale sign that this person is superstitious that if the dice hit someone's hands then the luck will change.
"Same Dice Please"
dice gamblers tend to think in "streaks". The dice are either hot or they're cold. This means that there's a certain "karma" attached to the actual dice that are being thrown. You will often times see gamblers say "Same Dice Please" when the dice are rolled off the table. Why? Because, they feel that the dice have some type of luck attached to them & new dice will ruin that luck. We all know this is not true & dice are dice but, hey, that why they're called superstitions!
Don't Hit the Stacks of Chips
Many people also feel that if a roll hits a stack of chips that a 7 is imminent. For some reason, I fall into this superstition as it just seems like it has been my experience that 7's do come up quite often when big stacks are hit. I know... It's totally luck & chance but that just seems to be the case for me.
